This cycle has highlighted that one of the most closely followed narratives in crypto is the competition between layers, or as I prefer to call it, the ecosystem race. Whether it's L1 or L2, numerous new layers are emerging, all vying to become the dominant crypto ecosystem. While each layer employs its own strategies, the majority are focused on enhancing efficiency, scalability, and driving technological advancement or innovation.
On the other hand, even though some of them can be popular and/or awaited, mainstream adoption in crypto has yet to occur, highlighting a key insight: mass adoption will only happen if the consumer experience is truly optimal—whether in terms of practicality, fun, or security.
Therefore, it’s time to zoom out. Discovering the new "favorite network" of the crypto ecosystem is valuable, but discovering it and bringing billions of people on-chain is even better!
